some poor planning, execution and the staff being understaffed. Sadly, it's not a true representation of most ZCONs, which are usually AMAZING. I have had a blast at every ZCON other than 2, and I have been to the majority of all of them. ZCON falls on the local club presenting the event and the members in the area to host. As there is a HUGE learning curve and tons of pressure, ocassionally teams and clubs fall off some. This happens so badly and arguments can become SOOO heated, that clubs often dissolve after having one. This is known as "The ZCON Curse". Although some clubs have made it past their issues, many have fallen off. Again, last year's ZCON was not a great representation of a ZCON but do have faith. Next years in Phoenix is going to be legendary... trust me.
Hope to see you there and hope you are not turned off on Z based events as a whole.
